Colorado Vacation

Last week we went to Colorado for four days to attend my be friends wedding. My husband had never been there before and I  wanted to show him around where I grew up.  The day we flew in was our only free day to go site seeing.

We started off my meeting my friend Traci who I met in middle school and had not seen in over 6 years.

We flew into Denver and I grew up in Colorado Springs so we headed 60 miles south.  Our first stop was the Air Force Acadmey.  My dad was stationed there for 6 years.

Next stop was the beautiful rock formation Garden of the Gods.

Near by was the remains of the Waldo Canyon fire that was burning for two weeks and was finally contained 3 days before this picture was taken.  It burned down over 350 houses and over 18,247 acres. Making this the most destructive and expensive fire in the states history.

The following day was the rehersal for the wedding.  We were at the beautiful Fossil Trace golf course with views of the mountains.  We had dinner in downtown Denver at our first brazilian steakhouse which was amazing. They keep bringing you food until you give them the red light to stop.  We were still full the next morning!

Wedding Day!!! Finally is here.  They were calling for a chance of thunderstorms around the time of the ceremony which was outside but it only sprinkled a little and held off making it a nice and plesant outdoor event.  The flowers matched our dresses perfectly!  Food was awesome and the cake was delicious!  Their DJ was really fun even got out and danced with us.  I am so glad that I could be there to celebrate my best friends special day with her.
