Happy Friday Eve...

Looking forward to only working 1.5 more days and then a week off!!!   Getting my IPOD ready for my drive to Charlotte and came across a new song that has a good point.  Money can't buy happiness but stop and enjoy right now!!

The artist is Jessie J song is called Price Tag here are the lyrics:

Okay, Coconut man, Moon Heads and Pea
You ready

Seems like everybody's got a price,
I wonder how they sleep at night.
When the sale comes first,
And the truth comes second,
Just stop, for a minute and
Smile

Why is everybody so serious
Acting so damn mysterious
Got your shades on your eyes
And your heels so high
That you can't even have a good time

Everybody look to their left (yeah)
Everybody look to their right (ha)
Can you feel that (yeah)
We're paying with love tonight
It's not about the money, money, money
We don't need your money, money, money
We just wanna make the world dance,
Forget about the Price Tag
Ain't about the (uh) Cha-Ching Cha-Ching.
Aint about the (yeah) Ba-Bling Ba-Bling
Wanna make the world dance,
Forget about the Price Tag.

Okay!
We need to take it back in time,
When music made us all unite
And it wasn't low blows and video hoes,
Am I the only one getting tired
Why is everybody so obsessed
Money can't buy us happiness
Can we all slow down and enjoy right now
Guarantee we'll be feeling Alright.

Everybody look to their left (yeah)
Everybody look to their right (ha)
Can you feel that (yeah)
We're paying with love tonight
It's not about the money, money, money
We don't need your money, money, money
We just wanna make the world dance,
Forget about the Price Tag
Ain't about the (uh) Cha-Ching Cha-Ching.

Aint about the (yeah) Ba-Bling Ba-Bling
Wanna make the world dance,
Forget about the Price Tag.

[B.o.B]
Yeah yeah
Well, keep the price tag
And take the cash back
Just give me six strings and a half stACK.
And you can keep the cars
Leave me the garage
And all I..
Yes all I need are keys and guitars
And its with in 30 seconds I'm leaving to Mars
Yeah we leaping across these undefeatable odds
Its like this man, you can't put a price on the life
We do this for the love so we fight and sacrifice everynight
So we aint gon stumble and fall never
Waiting to see this in the sign of defeat uh uh
So we gon keep everyone moving their feet
So bring back the beat and then everyone sing

It's not about the money, money, money
We don't need your money, money, money
We just wanna make the world dance,
Forget about the Price Tag
Ain't about the (uh) Cha-Ching Cha-Ching.
Aint about the (yeah) Ba-Bling Ba-Bling
Wanna make the world dance,
Forget about the Price Tag.

It's not about the money, money, money
We don't need your money, money, money
We just wanna make the world dance,
Forget about the Price Tag
Ain't about the (uh) Cha-Ching Cha-Ching.
Aint about the (yeah) Ba-Bling Ba-Bling
Wanna make the world dance,
Forget about the Price Tag.

[Jessie J -Outro]
Yeah, yeah
Oo-oooh
Forget about the price tag.

If it is not one thing its another

Of course when you think you are making progress in saving money and paying off bills your car needs something!! I was told on my last oil change I needed 2 new tires for my car, I was dumb founded and shocked. My car is less then 2 years old and didn't even have 30,000 miles on it. When I bought it, it was called the demo model and I realized after I closed the deal looking at the specifications they had switched out the all weather tires for summer tires. Not really knowing much about tires and the differences I do now!!  Because my car is front wheel drive the tires in the front will obviously wear out faster and they did not get rotated as often as they should.  I was trying to put this off at least till summer but on Friday when I was driving home my low tire pressure light came on and my back tire was really low, I filled it and again Saturday low so now I am getting 4 new all weather tires which will last longer and be better all year long. Uggg!

My favorite places to shop

I was turned on to Etsy a couple years ago and think it is a great website. I have bought countless things.  I am always searching for new ideas to give as gifts or for the house. Recently I  bought a tote for my mom and a delivery gown for my sister who is about to have her 2nd baby any day now.

Pottery Barn is a favorite home store of both my husband and my self.   Last fall we finally decided to get matching bedroom furniture, since all our things were piece milled together. I love our bedroom now, feels like we have a more grown up place.

Home Goods is probably my most favorite store of all. You never know what you are going to find, every time is different.  It is part of the TJ MAXX and Marshall department stores.  Their prices are very reasonable and have those things that make a room complete.  I got a bed in a bag set and a sheet set for our guest room together less then $50!!!

Clothing is my biggest downfall. I love a good deal, but also cave in at a cute dress or sweater.  My most favorite stores are  Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, and Gap.

I just got a great deal on line yesterday at Lands End  for a cute rain coat that I can't wait to wear!

If you look good it makes you feel good!

Gel manicure

I am not sure if you have heard about a gel manicure? It is some what new and so far I know of two nail polish companies that do it. OPI and Shellac and I have only tried the Shellac, they only have a limited amount of colors. I used to get the acrylic and gel tips but got tired of them weakening my nails. This is just like getting a manicure with a twist, you get the manicure like normal but when they go to put the polish on it is several steps. First they start with the base coat then make you put your hand in the UV light, next goes on the first coat of colored polish, then back in the UV light, the second coat of polish goes on and back in the UV light, then the top coat and to cure the polish back in the UV light for 10 minutes.  This polish makes your nails stronger almost like acrylic or gel tips without the damage, and the polish doesn't chip also lasts for at least 2 weeks and I am going on 4 weeks still no chips just the growth from my nails.

A friend turned me on to Living Social, where they email you daily deals in your area for at least 50% off. I purchased one a few weeks back for a gel manicure.  Today I went to get mine, you are told to make an appointment in advance, so I did.... I called four days in advance and got the strangest response when I told her want I wanted to make an appointment she said she was not sure if she would have someone available and had to call me back, which she never did so I called and again she sounded unsure but said to come in. I read some reviews about the nail salon and they were not so great. I went to my appointment expecting to be disapointed and was completly surprised! They were very professional and did a good job.  It is a hole in the wall with only 3 tables and 3 pedicure chairs for customers which fits because they only have 3 employees that work there, hint why she was not sure she could confirm my appointment. I am not sure that I will go back but it was a nice experience.

What is a shopahoic

The dictionary defines it as: shop·a·hol·ic  (shp-hôlk, -hlk)
n.
A person who shops compulsively or very frequently.
I think there are several categories of shopping. 1. House, things I need for the home.  2. Clothing,  a new outfit or shoes. 3. Browser, I am not really looking for anything specific but if something catches my eye I might get it. 4. Gift, a present you are buying for someone else. 5. Grocery, food for household. 6. Travel,  taking a vacation somewhere to relax.
Depending on what I have going on dictates my need for shopping.  I do most of my shopping around  my work, it is near a large shopping mall and several strip malls. This is a good and bad thing of course, if I need something last minute I can run out and get it without needing to go out of my way.  I used to go out on my lunch break just because I am browsing not really looking for anything specific, which is the worst shopping to do. I don't really need anything and buy it just for the excitement of getting a new thing for the house or my closet.  I have tried to break this by bring my lunch so I don't have to go out and then I use our gym at work to workout. Which kills two birds with one stone so I don't have to workout after work.
My goal for April was not to do any browse buying. I have already failed!!!
I went to a jewelry party over the weekend at my neighbors house and told my self not to buy anything, I do not need anything. Of course I saw a pair of earrings and a necklace and caved in.   Today I was looking on line at shoes, but restrained. Maybe I will try and start over next week!
