Nephews!

Last weekend I spent the morning with my oldest nephew Carson.  We had a very time planned.
It started with stopping by our local police station for their open house.  He got his finger printed, played basketball and jumped in the bouncy house.

Then we went to the spray park which was the coolest place I have seen for young kids.  The best thing about it was that it is FREE!

Later on after naps we met up with my brother in law and his family with their 2 boys to go fishing.  The boys were so excited and had a great time even if they only pretended to catch fish with their plastic poles.

National Zoo

My sister is in town visiting with my nephews.  Since I had a week day off we decided to take the boys to the national zoo.  I was pretty excited since I have only been to this zoo once before.

We started out in the visitors center to use the restrooms and get a map to know where we were going.

We saw the slothbear, otters, pandas, elephants and turtles.  What a long and tiring day with two small boys and only one stroller!

Bahamas

We are very fortunate that my in laws have a timeshare on Paradise Island, Bahamas and invited us to tag along for a few days.  My husband has been there several times growing up and I have also been to the island twice before but only a day trip while on a cruise, this time was nice being able to relax and enjoy the sights.

Free drinks on the plane from our awesome airline attendant = vacation mode!

We had lunch at my favorite place SeƱor Frogs, the atmosphere always puts you in a great mood.

The view from our balcony of the beach was just what we needed to get away from reality

Most days were spent at the pool and beach!

We went to Atlantis a couple times to the casino and doubled our money on the nickel slot machines, we are not big gamblers but it was fun.

The time always goes quickly but it was great to get away for a few days!

Wicked!!

This past weekend I went with my mother in law and sister in law to New York City and saw my very first broadway show wicked, which was absolutely fabulous!  I have been to NYC at least half a dozen times and have always wanted to see a show but never got around to it.  This was a great treat!  We drove up Saturday morning and checked into our hotel, dropped off our luggage and had lunch before walking to the theater for our matinee show.

After the show we walked around time square going into the shops and seeing the time square vistiors center.

We had dinner and then went on a night bus tour all around downtown NYC.

Sunday morning we stopped by Carlo's Bakery from the TV show Cake Boss just over the river in Hoboken ,New Jersery to get some breakfast and treats before driving the 4 hours back home.

Colorado Vacation

Last week we went to Colorado for four days to attend my be friends wedding. My husband had never been there before and I  wanted to show him around where I grew up.  The day we flew in was our only free day to go site seeing.

We started off my meeting my friend Traci who I met in middle school and had not seen in over 6 years.

We flew into Denver and I grew up in Colorado Springs so we headed 60 miles south.  Our first stop was the Air Force Acadmey.  My dad was stationed there for 6 years.

Next stop was the beautiful rock formation Garden of the Gods.

Near by was the remains of the Waldo Canyon fire that was burning for two weeks and was finally contained 3 days before this picture was taken.  It burned down over 350 houses and over 18,247 acres. Making this the most destructive and expensive fire in the states history.

The following day was the rehersal for the wedding.  We were at the beautiful Fossil Trace golf course with views of the mountains.  We had dinner in downtown Denver at our first brazilian steakhouse which was amazing. They keep bringing you food until you give them the red light to stop.  We were still full the next morning!

Wedding Day!!! Finally is here.  They were calling for a chance of thunderstorms around the time of the ceremony which was outside but it only sprinkled a little and held off making it a nice and plesant outdoor event.  The flowers matched our dresses perfectly!  Food was awesome and the cake was delicious!  Their DJ was really fun even got out and danced with us.  I am so glad that I could be there to celebrate my best friends special day with her.
