Baby Boom!

We are at that age where our friends are getting married and having babies!  I have 30 friends and a sister who are currently pregnant or have had a baby in the past 6 months, this is a serious baby trend. Don't drink the water if you don't want to have a baby.  I get asked all the time when are you going to get pregnant?  Hopefully not too much longer, we are trying to decide what to do about where we live. We only have a one bedroom condo and need more space.  I will keep you posted!!

I attended a class through work a few years ago on public speaking. Our end of the week project was to make a speech on giving directions on how to do something.  One of the girls taught us all how to make a diaper cake.  I have seen them popping up more and more.  It is just what it says, if you don't know its a tiered cake made out of diapers and accessories, NOT EDIBLE! This peaked my interest right away because I like to be crafty and make things or give things unique as gifts.  At just about every baby shower I  have attended since then I make a diaper cake for, they are a great gift because they are 100% usable baby items.

Boston

Last week I went to Boston for the first time.  My brother in law had a conference for work that included spouses. Since they have a 2 month old still nursing they had to bring him along, some of their outings were too hard to bring Tyler so they asked me to come help out with babysitting duties.  I jumped at the chance especially since my favorite baseball team is the RedSox and they were in town, I made only one request which was to go to a game!!!!  We flew out on Thursday, dropped off our things at the hotel and walked to Fenway Park.

                                             Outside the ball park

Before the game as close as I could get to the field, it was amazing!

Me from my seats which were so close and perfect! The RedSox won and had a great game hitting 5 home runs!

Friday I had a duck boat tour scheduled and was so happy that I got to be on the Red Sox boat!!

On the duck boat tour in the Charles River a view of the city and tallest building in the area.

I got to drive the boat for a few minutes

This is where the show Cheers was filmed on Beacon Hill.  It was originally named Bull & Finch Pub but later renamed because of the shows popularity.

Saturday morning we had some free time so my sister and I walked around and did some site seeing with baby tyler in toe. First we went to the Public Gardens and then across the street to Boston Commons.

I walked all over and ended up at Fan Pier in Boston Harbor. My feet were definitely hurting at the end of the day and took a cab back to the hotel.

                                          The Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel

Catie Copley lives at the Fairmont as a canine ambassador, if you are away from home and missing your pet you can take Catie for walks, they have a whole schedule to keep track of her and let you know where her favorite Boston hang outs are.  She is an 8 year old black lab that was a guide dog.

Saturday night my sister and brother in law with Tyler before they went to the Red Sox game.

Sunday we headed back to DC, had a great time in Boston seeing the sites and exploring.  My sister and her family then drove back to Charlotte.

Reston Zoo

Last Wednesday my sister came up to visit from Charlotte with my two nephews Carson and baby Tyler.  We took advantage of my time off from work and invited my sister in law Sarah along with my other nephew Jake and my sister's sister in law Natalie with her son Jack Henry.   We all had a great time chasing the boys around and feeding the animals.
