Gel manicure

I am not sure if you have heard about a gel manicure? It is some what new and so far I know of two nail polish companies that do it. OPI and Shellac and I have only tried the Shellac, they only have a limited amount of colors. I used to get the acrylic and gel tips but got tired of them weakening my nails. This is just like getting a manicure with a twist, you get the manicure like normal but when they go to put the polish on it is several steps. First they start with the base coat then make you put your hand in the UV light, next goes on the first coat of colored polish, then back in the UV light, the second coat of polish goes on and back in the UV light, then the top coat and to cure the polish back in the UV light for 10 minutes.  This polish makes your nails stronger almost like acrylic or gel tips without the damage, and the polish doesn't chip also lasts for at least 2 weeks and I am going on 4 weeks still no chips just the growth from my nails.

A friend turned me on to Living Social, where they email you daily deals in your area for at least 50% off. I purchased one a few weeks back for a gel manicure.  Today I went to get mine, you are told to make an appointment in advance, so I did.... I called four days in advance and got the strangest response when I told her want I wanted to make an appointment she said she was not sure if she would have someone available and had to call me back, which she never did so I called and again she sounded unsure but said to come in. I read some reviews about the nail salon and they were not so great. I went to my appointment expecting to be disapointed and was completly surprised! They were very professional and did a good job.  It is a hole in the wall with only 3 tables and 3 pedicure chairs for customers which fits because they only have 3 employees that work there, hint why she was not sure she could confirm my appointment. I am not sure that I will go back but it was a nice experience.
